One tough jacket, that you’ll enjoy wearing

Scrapper jacket from Duluth Trading CompanyThe new Scrapper Jacket from Duluth Trading Company is a blend of two previously exclusive qualities…heavy duty, tear resistant, durable fabric and super light-weight, soft-to-the-touch, insulated nylon fabric. It’s not one of those poufy ski jackets; but, you’ll enjoy wearing it just as much as if it were. In fact, you’ll probably enjoy it more; because, you won’t be constantly worried about snagging it on something.

When I watched the attached video, I assumed the fabric had to be hard as nails. I was so surprised when I received it that it was as soft as it was, and lightweight. While it weighs almost nothing, it’s actually quite, quite warm thanks to the 100-g Thinsulate layer in between the outer and inner layers. It’s rated for 5˚ – 20˚F.

It’s ideal in the wintertime for photography work that goes on year-round.  Crawling or climbing to get that perfect shot, this thing moves any way I do. No more worrying about briars, burrs or an occasional  barbed wire fence.

Outside, it’s made of rip-resistant Cordura Naturalle nylon fabric.  It is soft and pliable and is extra comfortable with underarm gussets that let you reach overhead without feeling constrained. The inside is a polyester taffeta lining so it slides easily over whatever kind of shirt or vest you are wearing.

Scrapper jacket from Duluth Trading CompanyThe Scrapper comes in men’s and women’s jackets and vests and a men’s hooded jacket. There are two generous inner mesh pockets big enough for work gloves or a knit cap. Outside, there are two external handwarmer pockets and a single zippered pocket on the chest for your cellphone. A bungee cord at the bottom seals out the winter wind.

The only thing I wish it had would be an inside chest pocket for pad and pencil; but then, I’m old school – I still write things down on paper.

If you are looking for a weather-resistant jacket that looks good, wears well, and is lightweight, take a look at the Duluth Trading Company’s Scrapper line.  They are available on-line at
