Best of the Best

Lighting up the night sky is what the members of the Pyrotechnics Guild International are all about. Creating awe-inspiring, night fireworks displays is what they love to do. Coming from all across the world, the best of the best will be assembling in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania this August for their 2013 PGI Convention.

The Ultimate Fireworks Shows

What that means for you and me is that we get to witness four nights of the biggest, the baddest, the newest, the best fireworks you’ve ever seen. As each fireworks company tries to outdo all the rest, the viewers are the ultimate winners, getting to watch the most innovative fireworks displays imaginable.

Spectators are not allowed during the convention, (and no – you can’t buy fireworks); but you can watch the contestants put on shows four different nights in August – weather permitting:

  • Sunday 8/11/13 @ 8:30 pm
  • Tuesday 8/13/13 @ 8:30 pm
  • Wednesday 8/14/13 @ 8:30 pm
  • Friday 8/16/13 @ 8:00 pm

Multiple competitors will display each evening, so bring a lawn chair or blanket and plan to be there a while.

The event is being held at the Cooper’s Lake Campground; 205 Currie Road; Slippery Rock, PA 16057.  Coopers Lake is a 600-acre family-friendly and 6th generation family-owned facility. The venue is located in Worth Township off I-79, Exit 99 with access off Route 422 and off Route 19.

Tickets are $35/carload (up to 6) presale and $40 at the gate.
