The Top Five Cities

New York, New York

It’s only appropriate that the largest city in the U.S. would also be home to one of the largest fireworks shows. New York City’s fireworks show is probably best known for its diverse display of colors and there are so many great spots to watch the fireworks from around the city. CheapOair suggests finding a rooftop bar and grabbing yourself a few drinks while enjoying the show.

Miami, Forida

Miami is an iconic destination for Independence Day. Beach, sun, warm weather, and fireworks; what’s not to love? This is one of your best choices if you want to mix your beach vacation with exciting Independence Day festivities. It may not be the biggest fireworks display in the U.S., but features a great balance of fun in the sun and an evening light show.

Boston, Massachusetts

Boston has long been home to one of the best Independence Day fireworks displays. The Independence Day festivities go on all week in Boston, leading up the July 4th celebration that brings hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Canons, church bells, and a grand finale that is second to none, are just a few of the features of one of the largest fireworks displays in America.

Washington, D.C.

It should come as no surprise that the nation’s capital would feature one of the best Independence Day fireworks displays. There’s a certain magic to seeing fireworks light up the sky with D.C.’s historic landmarks as the backdrop. A parade down Constitution Avenue and live music leads up to the grand fireworks spectacular.

New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans is another destination that has been near the top of most people’s list as one of the top Independence Day celebrations. There’s just something special about visiting New Orleans on July 4th and watching the fireworks along the waterfront. While this is no Mardi Gras, New Orleans still puts on a great show for July 4th. While you can watch the fireworks riverfront, for a real treat, get a ticket on-board the Steamboat Natchez.
