Darn. Now the secret is out – Cleveland is one of the top five cities where you can live the good life on $40,000 a year or less.  AARP just released their October/November 2016 issue today, and Cleveland proudly ranks right up there.

According to AARP The Magazine:

“The Remake on the Lake: With its varied neighborhoods, world-class orchestra, thriving downtown, elite medical centers, and miles of biking and hiking trails along Lake Erie, this Rust Belt city is staging a mighty comeback.  It’s been fueled in part by the rising tide of boomers, who are 25.8 percent of the population….The appeal is also how easy it is to get to museums, music venues and sports stadiums.  And after basketball superstar LeBron James led the Cavaliers to the city’s first major sports championship in 52 years last June, there is a real sense of optimism around town.”

If you don’t already receive the magazine, you can see the slide show here:  http://www.aarp.org/home-family/your-home/info-2016/live-here-for-under-40k-photos.html#slide1

Another interesting fact in the full article is that Cleveland has this country’s second-largest boomer population at 25.8% of it’s citizens. Rock on boomers and Go Tribe!
