I’ve been using a rechargeable LED flashlight for evening rescue and response missions with the Red Cross for about a year now.  I’ve just switched however to the Infray Super Bright LED Tactical Flashlight, with rechargeable 18650 battery Included. It charges via micro-USB.

This new light is much smaller, making it that much more pocketable. It’s also lighter and is also IP65 water-resistant, so you can use it without fear in the heaviest rain. What I love is that it throws a big beam of uniform brightness, so it’s bright across the beam, not just in the center like my old one.

The circuitry technology has certainly improved over the last year and this new Infray light really demonstrates it. Get 800 lumens for 6 hours or 20 lumens for up to 120 hours.

Actually, the light offers 5 modes:  Hi, Medium, Lo, Strobe for security and SOS for rescue.  Each time you press the power button, it cycles to the next mode.  If you hold down the power button for three seconds, it powers off the light without cycling through all the modes and restarts the next time in the same mode.

That’s my only complaint so far – I tend to press too quick and it changes modes instead of turning off.  I’ll learn eventually.

The aircraft aluminum body and waterproofing design is ideal for anyone who spends a lot of time in survivalist environments, hunting or extended camping trips in the wilderness. The charging port of INFRAY rechargeable flashlight comes with a USB cover to keep out dust and moisture, which improves the light’s ability to be used outdoors. You can then recharge the light from your laptop, from your car, or via a portable solar panel.

Check it out online at Amazon.com where it’s presently on sale for just $19.95 with Prime shipping available.
