The doors to the International Consumer Electronics Show were thrown open this morning in what appears to be another blockbuster show.  Last night, journalists were given an opportunity to preview some of the exhibitors’ new products.  Here are a few that caught my eye.

While completely autonomous driving is probably still some time away, companies like Valeo are bringing it exponentially closer.  Their new “assistive driving” technology can take the wheel in many situations and will offer warnings should other drivers divert from their lanes.  Flying cars – not yet; but, smarter and safer driving is here now.

SleepPhones is showing a soft, comfortable headband with built-in bluetooth speakers that each bed partner can wear to help them fall to sleep listening to their own favorite playlist.

Celluon showed a line of ultra tiny Pico projectors – about the size of an iPhone6+ that focus automatically via laser.  Show your videos on any wall through either Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or HDMI.

Fugoo has a line of speakers that change their looks by just replacing the exterior skin. Now they’ve upped the line with a series of larger, much louder, waterproof speakers ideal for the beach or pool.

Griffin Twenty let’s you stream via Bluetooth to your old, beautiful analog speakers.

Hatteras is a new line of outdoor speakers from Voxx that even includes a nightlight.  Ideal for the patio or pool.

Worried about nodding off while driving?  Happens to the best of us.  Now, don an Impecca headband and it will sense your loss of attention and alert you to wake up and pull over.

Envious of those with push button start in their cars?  Add it aftermarket with Keyfree – a Bluetooth enabled, secure ignition key replacement.

Want a pictorial diary of your life.  Pop on a Narrative device (that little orange square – also comes in black or white) and it will snap high-res photos every so many seconds or minutes – allllllllll day long.  A browser app lets you wiz through the video to find certain events you want to see again.

Pixio is the perfect accessory for those who want to record their children, their grandchildren or even themselves on video as they participate in sports.  With a simple “target” strapped to your wrist, the “Move n See” will track you with any camera mounted atop and record all your exciting action.
