PixPro CX360 is a pretty amazing amount of technology in a very small case. Easily cupped in my hand, this camera is light enough to mount anywhere or take anywhere without weight being an issue. Capturing a full 360 degree image, you can later use the supplied software to show just the areas of main interest as the video is edited. Various mounts let you take it on almost any adventure.
Magellan gave me a chance to play with their Cyclo315 bike GPS. This unit comes loaded with bike path info for city riding as well as state and local off-road trail information. If you are traveling, click “Surprise Me”, tell it the distance you want to ride, and the Cyclo315 will show you three routes based on your riding preferences.
PrimeraTrio is the hottest new little bundle of office goodness available from Primera. Scanner, printer and copier that all fit in your backpack or briefcase. Uses standard office paper and can go anywhere you go.
Spotty wireless connectivity in parts of your house. Would you believe you could fix it by screwing in a light bulb? Of course not…until now. Sengled, a major manufacture of light bulbs, has incorporated a Wi-Fi repeater into a simple LED lightbulb called the Boost. Simply screw it in, and it will take your existing Wi-Fi signal, boost its level, and project it further through your home or office.
NiteIze QuikStand is a sturdy stand for your smartphone or tablet that folds down small and flat enough to stick in your wallet next to your credit cards. Takes just a second to set up and is surprisingly steady for its small size. Available now.
Now you can talk to your BBQ – without feeling weird. The Lynx is the premium grilling solution you always wanted. Made of premium materials with precision temperature controls that enables you to do computer controlled grilling – repeatedly. Comes with 200+ tested recipes that can be replicated time and again – each time you cook, the grill will actually speak to you telling you when it’s hot enough to place your food, when it’s time to flip the food and when the food is actually done. Check your recipes on your phone or tablet and you’ll get alerted if you are away from the grill when action is needed.
If you fish, you’ve probably always wanted a fish finder; but, they are expensive, usually bulky and not fun to carry. Now there is a bobber called Deeper, that does the same job as the more expensive units and can be cast into any area you want to see.
If you’ve got a tablet, you’ve probably wished you could view content from USB sticks or your camera’s SD cards. Now with the IOGear Go For 2+, you can. Stick the OTG cable into your phone or tablet’s micro-USB port and have three USB slots and two card slots to access all your files. High definition readout is available by Bluetooth from your smartphone or tablet.
Video drones are fabulous fun and great to fly…..once you figure out the controls. Hopefully you’ll figure them out before it flies away and you never see it again. Zano has made the learing curve exponentially easier using your phone or tablet to fly. Simply tilt the phone left or right and it goes left or right. Forward or back – same thing. Best part – this powerful little drone fits right in your hand, so it’s perfect for travel.
iHome has come out with a perfect solution to Bluetooth stereo. The iBT11 is a pair of fist-sized speakers that magnetically cling to each other while in their charging cradle. But, when you’re ready for some music, they wirelessly detach from each other and the base, so you can set them anywhere in your room for great stereo separation.
AfterShokz was showing off their Bluez 2 bone conduction headphones and having used them for a couple days now, I can vouch that they work fabulously. Instead of sticking in your ear, they lightly press against the skin in front of the ear. Your bones then transfer the sound into your ear canal and you won’t believe how good they sound until you’ve had a chance to experience them yourselves. Built-in microphone lets you take and make phone calls.
