I’ve been a fan of Cushe footwear for some time now. I’ve got two other models that have become something of a “go-to” duo – the Cushe Dawn Patrol and the boot style Cushe Matthias WP. I’ve just recently added their Getaway shoes and I love them as well.
Cushe Getaway
The Getaway is a super-lightweight shoe that you can wear all day in perfect comfort. After spending a day wandering all the halls of McCormick Place in Chicago recently, I came back to the hotel with my feet killing me, despite the fact I was wearing some rather high priced shoes that had formerly been pretty comfortable.
Luckily, I had thrown the Getaways in my suitcase as well, and even though I hadn’t worn them much yet, I reasoned that they couldn’t be any worse than what I had just experienced. As it turned out, they were the perfect formula. I wore them for the next four days straight – walking over 20 miles of showroom floors, and I felt great.
I was a little hesitant at first because I was walking through the wintery, slushy streets of Chicago for part of the time and the Getaways have a mesh with suede exterior. I was concerned about them possibly staining from the salt covered streets. Turns out that was unfounded, as they still look terrific a month after the show.
The footbed is a removable moulded EVA foam which Cushe calls their “mellow comfort.” Whatever they choose to call it – it works. I felt comfortable walking on the winter sidewalks as well as trekking miles and miles of tradeshow exhibits.
Thanks Cushe – you did it again.
