If you read my initial reactions to the Memento Smart Frame, you’ll recall I was blown away with its 4K picture quality and programmability. Well, my mind has been spinning ever since, thinking of all the possible uses for this amazing digital frame.
Here, in no specific order, are ten of the possible scenarios where the Memento Smart Frame would be an awesome application:
Across from grandma’s chair. Far and away, grandparents would certainly appreciate having a frame that could be frequenty updated remotely by family members across the country. The frame will hold up to 3,000 photos.
In a nursing home. Families could submit photos to the nursing home receptionist, who could easily update the frame daily or weekly. Don’t you know that the residents would all be bringing their friends to the library or wherever the frame is displayed, to show off their family’s photos.
In the library at any school. Take all those outtakes from the newspaper staff and put them on display for everyone to enjoy. The librarian could also intersperse them with featured new materials available in the library.
At the office in the reception area. Easily add a “Welcome” message, any time a visitor is expected. At other times, feature the company’s photos of their employees, activities or products.
Upon entering the neighborhood rec center. Post schedules of the daily activities, alternating with photos of past events and activities.
In the lunch room. Daily menus can be alternated with daily specials, tempting food photos or nutritional tips.
In your church’s lobby. The internet is awash with beautifully illustrated, inspirational quotes that look amazing in a matted frame. When available, add photos of members on their missionary trips for all to see. Photos can even be uploaded by the mission team while they are in the field.
Photographers need multiple ones in their studio lobby. Nothing sells photos better than seeing them blown up and in a matted frame. Now, with no expense, every family coming in can see their photos at their best – in wall appropriate sizes and in high fidelity illuminated glory.
At the veterinarian’s office. People love to show off their pets’ photos. Give them a place to send their best photos. Seeing photos of happy people with their pets should make time go faster while they are waiting.
In any retail establishment. Create a desire to purchase by featuring photos of other customers enjoying your product. RV dealers and automobile dealers can get customers to send photos of their vehicles in the mountains or at the beach. Outdoor equipment dealers can have customers send photos from their travels. Even kitchen dealers could accumulate a wealth of food porn featuring their kitchen utensils in action. Art dealers could easily rotate photos of pieces that they don’t have room for on the walls. Coin dealers could make great macro photos of their most valuable coins or currency.
The possibilities are endless for a premium quality display of appropriate ‘art’. People are used to seeing digital displays in retail for example, but, put the same content in a matted frame and you are sure to attract attention.

This is awesome. I’m going to recommend this to my boss. He’ll love replacing the paper signs he’s always posting with something that looks this terrific. Great suggestion.
Allen, you’re right. The digital display is super sharp and everything looks its best.
Does this generate a lot of heat, like a computer screen?
No Terry. Nothing like a CRT – this uses LED lighting and there’s no heat to speak of at all.
