Pocketable, waterproof, lightweight, but extremely rugged – if you could only take one camera that could go anywhere and do anything, it might be a GoPro. The latest GoPro Hero9 Black shoots 20MP SuperPhotos with HDR and Raw stills with front-facing live-view LCD and rear-facing touchscreen LCD. It will also shoot up to 5K30 video with its HyperSmooth 3.0 video stabilization.  Scheduled Capture and Duration Capture are just a couple of the new features in Hero9 to add to your photo skills. You can even use it as a high-quality webcam.

If 360° photos and video are your thing, you’ll want to check out the GoPro Max  shooting 6K30 spherical video, 18MP Source stills and 270° distortion-free panos with one click – awesome for selfies with a level horizon. Scheduled Capture on the Max was utilized in this award-winning video of a Snow Leopard.

If you aren’t familiar with GoPro Labs, you need to be.  Supporting Hero7 through 9, plus Max, you can download and install the latest experimental firmware additions. These will upgrade your cameras with the coolest added features like camera motion triggers, acting as a dash cam with USB power trigger, or motion detection for video capture with sensitivity adjustments available. You can even create special QR codes to save settings and prepare your camera to do livestreaming, add overlays, etc. Those can then be applied to multiple cameras or shared with associates.

Kingston Media Devices

I’ve been shooting digital cameras since the late 90s, and over the course of all those years, I’ve gone through many memory cards.  Kingston has repeatedly been one of the most reliable and reasonably priced cards out there.
