The camera shoots 2K video and 4MP stills, so your picture will be quite clear compared to most security cams that shoot ¼ to ½ of that size. The video also is capable of H.265 compression as well as the older H.264 compression, which boils down to getting you almost twice as much video on the same-sized MicroSD card.
When you open the app on your phone, you have options to watch the live view, take pictures, record videos and select the resolution of the same.
With the Pan and Tilt function of the app, you can swivel the camera left and right 340 degrees, and up and down 80 degrees. You can also use the microphone built into the camera to converse with people in front of the camera. You can also manually trigger flashing lights and siren to deter intruders.
The night vision is quite good and again, comes in multiple flavors. There’s Color Night Vision as well as Black and White Night Vision. An infrared light helps the camera define details at night up to 100 feet away, that you wouldn’t normally be able to see.
Motion zones can be set so it doesn’t go off every time your patio umbrella flutter in the breeze. And if that weren’t enough, it also utilizes AI (artificial intelligence) such that when it senses motion, if it detects that it is a person, it will actually turn itself to follow the motion of the person. No more watching the person dart in and out of one corner of the video. Brilliant!
