Forget Digging In The Dirt Outside
By: Robert Bardwell
We’ve been enjoying our Plantaform garden since we installed it in our dining room in the middle of February.

Setup was pretty straightforward — we spent about 20 minutes assembling the device, soaking the lettuce mix pods, and getting everything loaded up with water and nutrients. We used the Lettuce Mix, and within just five days, we already had sprouts emerging and were able to remove the starter caps.

It was fun tracking the progress daily with pictures, watching our tiny seedlings quickly turning into fast-growing plants. The first time we needed any maintenance was right before heading out on vacation in early March, about two weeks after setting it up. Even then, all it required was topping off the water and nutrients, so it’s been low-maintenance so far.

Even our neighbor, who was looking after our cat, got into the excitement watching the garden, texting us regular lettuce updates while we were away.

After about a month, I was too eager to keep waiting for full growth, and stole some young lettuce to start adding to salads. But now, about five weeks in, we are in full production mode and the abundance is upon us. Overall, as somebody who is terrible at keeping houseplants alive, it’s been reassuring to see how everything is self-contained and the app reminds us whenever it’s time to take action.

Disclosure: Plantaform supplied us with this unit for testing so we could write this review. No financial compensation was involved in this transaction, and opinions expressed are, and always will be, strictly our own.
