After seeing the price of some ergonomic chairs pass the $2,000 mark, I began to wonder if I’d ever get another chair to replace the trusty old one that I’ve had for 20+ years. When I saw the FlexiSpot OC14 Pro Plus Mesh Chair, I was hopeful but doubtful that it could live up to the comfort I sought for under $600.00. With dozens of 4-1\/2 star reviews, I knew it was worth a try. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’ve ever sat in a chair at your home office for a long time, and your back or neck started hurting. That’s a sign it doesn’t fit your body type. Ergonomic chairs are designed to follow your body’s contour and help you to sit more naturally and comfortably. It should also allow multiple adjustments to fit all body types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE FIRST BIG DECISION WAS WHAT COLOR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luckily, FlexiSpot offers this chair in four elegant colorways: Light Blue on White, Light Grey on White, a rich Red on White, and Black on Black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My FlexiSpot Comhar Q8 standing desk came in white, so I selected the Light Grey on White chair, which looks great as a pair. The OC14 rolls so easily with its five 360\u00b0 casters, that it’s effortless to roll the chair away when I stand, or back when I want to sit for a while. I’ve got the Q8’s set of four selectable heights set, so it’s a perfect match to the chair when seated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KEY TO THE COMFORT<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The back frame of the OC14 uses both hard and soft plastic to create the comfort you want – no matter hold large or small you are in stature. Somehow, their engineers managed to match the “stretchiness” to your body size, so you always feel supported, yet comfortable. The high elasticity filament mesh cloth seat allows airflow through almost the entire surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ADJUSTABILITY IS KEY<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I’ve never had a chair with quite this many control options. The backrest really leans back if you want to put your feet up and relax. A lever below can lock the seat in whatever reclining position you want, or it can allow you to move back and forth as the mood hits you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another lever allows up to 3+” of height adjustment with a gas-powered lift while the third lever allows the seat 2+” of adjustment forward or back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, a simple grip under the armrest gives one the additional capability of raising the armrests almost 3″ if desired. The armrests can also be easily pulled out or in about 2″ and angled in or out for a totally customized fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The one control that almost eluded me was the leftmost one in the illustration above. By pulling it out, and revolving it, you set the tension on the back of the chair, so it will allow you to effortlessly recline all the way or instead, keep you from reclining too far without a concentrated effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the headrest also easily lifts up or down to suit people of various heights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CONCLUSION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After having used the FlexiSpot OC14 Ergonomic Chair<\/a> for a few weeks now, I can attest that there’s no reason in the world to look at $1,000 to $2,000 chairs when this one can be had at a fraction of the price. Well done, FlexiSpot. The more of the Flexispot line I try, the more impressed I am. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My wife also loves it. She’s just over 5’1″ tall and many chair seats are too tall for her. I lowered it down to its lowest height, and VIOLA, a perfect fit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
