So when is a sleeping bag not a bag?\u00a0 When it\u2019s a sleepwear system.\u00a0 A what?\u00a0 A Selk\u2019bag sleepwear system\u2026i.e. a body suit made of sleeping bag material.\u00a0 When you \u201cwear\u201d your sleeping bag, a whole new world of opportunity awaits.<\/p>\n

One of life\u2019s big nuisances is having to crawl out of your nice warm sleeping bag to turn off\/on a light, to restock a fire or to go grab something you left outside the tent.\u00a0 After you\u2019ve undressed, the thought of that cold air hitting your skin is anything but pleasant.<\/p>\n

With a Selk\u2019bag sleep system, you literally \u201cput on\u201d your sleeping bag, just as you would with a jumpsuit. Selk\u2019bag originated in the Chilean Andes, and was inspired by the Selk\u2019nam native people of Tierra del Fuego, one of the coldest places on the continent.<\/p>\n

In the Selk\u2019bag Patagon system (their newest) you\u2019ll have a couple great advantages not originally available in the older models.<\/p>\n

  • Removable booties can be unzipped, allowing the user to wear his\/her own shoes or boots for extended walking outdoors.<\/li>\n
  • Magnetic closures in the sleeves allow your hands to pop outside the insulated shell on a moment\u2019s notice and then quickly reseal once you pull your hands back inside.<\/li>\n
  • Velcro straps assist in allowing the Patagon sleeves to be \u201crolled-up\u201d when you\u2019ve got a lot of work to do and you don\u2019t want your puffy sleeves in the way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
