Until I saw Hi-Tec<\/a> at the Outdoor Retailers Show, I must admit I was pretty much unfamiliar with them.\u00a0 While they sell sporting and military footwear to over 86 countries and have been since 1974, I had never had the pleasure of trying their footwear.<\/p>\n

That changed recently when my wife and I had the opportunity to try some of their boots. I opted for the Phoenix Thermo 200i and Maureen is wearing the Thomas Boot 200i.\u00a0 Both are insulated and extremely comfortable.<\/p>\n

My first reaction when taking them out of the box was that they weren\u2019t anywhere near as heavy as I thought they would be.\u00a0 Actually the Phoenix Thermo 200i<\/span> feels like I\u2019m wearing a pair of sneakers and I\u2019m happy to leave them on all day. I love the sleek but rugged looks.\u00a0 My pair has the blue laces on the grey exterior which is a great look with jeans.<\/p>\n

The fleece lining and Thinsulate insulation make an interior that\u2019s as warm as it is comfortable.\u00a0 The exterior is a smooth and easy to clean, seam-sealed nylon that\u2019s completely water sealed. Underneath, tough lugs give you traction on whatever type terrain you find yourself.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t wait for the snow to start piling up around here as we have some new snowshoes that we are dying to use, and the grey and blue Phoenix Thermo 200i\u2019s match my new L.L. Bean Trailblazer snowshoes<\/a> perfectly.<\/p>\n
