Doing a little research, it turns out that W\u00fcsthof has been making knives since 1814 in Soligen, Germany, renowned as the world\u2019s cutlery capital. After seven generations in the same family, they are now using the latest laser technology to sharpen their \u201cGourmet\u201d series of knives.<\/p>\n
I can honestly say I\u2019ve never held a sharper knife.\u00a0 The way it slid through everything on my cutting board was truly eye opening. I\u2019ve used other peoples\u2019 dull knives before, and therefore thought that our own cutlery was pretty darn sharp. But now, after being spoiled by the Wusthof, I\u2019ll probably never look at another knife the same again.<\/p>\n
The set comes with a carrying case and three knives:\u00a0 a 3\u201d paring knife, a 5\u201d serrated utility knife and a 6\u201d cook\u2019s knife.\u00a0 The handles are all very comfortable to use and three rivets make sure the blades won\u2019t come loose. A pair of heavy duty shears completes the cutting tools.<\/p>\n
