The <a href=\"http:\/\/alpsmountaineering.com\/\">Alps Mountaineering Escalade Cot <\/a>(SKU# 8222014) is an absolute \u201cmust see\u201d if you are looking for a cot \u2013 either for car camping, for an extra bedroom, or for those unexpected guests.<\/p>\n<p>Twelve months ago, I would have never suggested a cot for guests\u2026.unless of course, they were the kind you wished wouldn\u2019t stay in the first place. It was so comfortable, I couldn\u2019t believe it. And it wasn\u2019t just me, my wife was also amazed.\u00a0 Her experience was just the same as mine.<\/p>\n<p>Later that week, I had a chance to sit down with the rep from Alps Mountaineering at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City and review their line of cots.\u00a0 Turns out they had one even better than the one we slept on earlier that week.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/piqEbSk-1J4?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>The Escalade is now my new-found favorite.\u00a0 It sets up like a dream (be sure to watch the video) and folds up even faster. Not only that, there\u2019s no metal support at the end of the cot. The overall cot size set-up is 31\u201dwide x 80\u201dlong x 20\u201d high.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re on the tall or big side, there\u2019s a big brother called the Escalade Cot XL (SKU# 8223014) which adds 4\u201d in width and 10\u201d in length.\u00a0 Both cots are capable of supporting 325 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>You won\u2019t take this cot backpacking as it weighs 16 pounds, but it\u2019s ideal when weight is not an issue.
