What you need now are minimum 16GB, and preferably 32 or 64GB cards.\u00a0 But what kind to buy?<\/p>\n<h1>Kingston SDHC\/SDXC UHS-I U3 Flash Cards<\/h1>\n<p>One of the things to look for first is the speed class \u2013 in this case <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingston.com\/us\/flash\/microsd_cards#sdca3\">Kingston\u2019s newest cards<\/a> will read up to 90MB\/second and write up to 80MB\/second.\u00a0 That\u2019s fast enough to keep up with the data rate on today\u2019s fastest cameras.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Kingston-0006.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-12878\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Kingston-0006-600x341.jpg?resize=600%2C341\" alt=\"Kingston SDHC\/SDXC UHS-I U3 Flash Cards\" width=\"600\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Kingston-0006.jpg?resize=600%2C341&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Kingston-0006.jpg?resize=150%2C85&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Kingston-0006.jpg?resize=300%2C171&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Kingston-0006.jpg?w=1406&amp;ssl=1 1406w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Be aware however, not all UHS-I speed class 3 cards read\/write at this speed \u2013 the spec only requires them to be able to maintain 30MB\/seconds for read\/write.\u00a0 That won\u2019t do for your high-def video.<\/p>\n<p>Also, not every card will work.\u00a0 Check your equipment, older model cameras might only work with standard SD or microSD cards \u2013 not today\u2019s faster microSDHC or microSDXC cards.
