If you need light, nine times out of ten you want it as bright as you can get it. That\u2019s especially true when you\u2019re off the grid either intentionally or during a power outage. \u00a0With the Pelican ProGear Work Lights, you can pack a day\u2019s worth of brilliance anywhere you go.<\/p>\n

PELICAN 9420XL <\/strong><\/h1>\n

The is a kit with everything you need to set up and illuminate a large work area.\u00a0 The 9420XL consists of a built-in tripod style base and an extending mast that raises the light head up to 62\u201d high. Collapsed, the unit is only 29\u201d long and comes with a shoulder strap so it can be easily carried to where ever you are working.<\/p>\n

The 9420XL kit comes complete with two battery packs \u2013 each lasting about four hours on low beam or two hours at full brightness. Recharge time is two hours, and it comes with both 110v and 12v recharging options.\u00a0 Everything packs into the convenient black carrying case for easy storage.<\/p>\n

When on full brightness, the dual LED\u2019s are pumping out 1,000 lumens of light.\u00a0 On low, expect 500 lumens of light. Of special interest to me was the possibility of having a remote studio setup anywhere quickly and easily, without the need to plug in studio lights. Usually the project is over once the sun goes down, but no longer.<\/p>\n

The 9420XL is really great for two applications: stills and video.<\/p>\n

For late night portraits, the mast will support a Manfrotto clamp with a photographer\u2019s umbrella. That, and a simple reflector is all you need to get great soft light even on a totally dark night.<\/p>\n
