Where to start, when talking about the RODELink Filmmaker Kit<\/a>?\u00a0 This thing is freaking awesome.<\/p>\n

Without naming names, I\u2019ve tested a number of major manufacturer\u2019s wireless microphones\u2026and been rather disappointed with most. Many cost far more than the RODELink and can\u2019t compare with the simplicity and performance.<\/p>\n

This is dead simple and should appeal to anyone who doesn\u2019t want to figure out wave frequencies, channels and the like.\u00a0 I merely took the transmitter and receiver out of the box, added batteries, and plugged in the microphone.\u00a0 Push one button on each and \u201cViol\u00e1\u201d \u2013 it worked.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not to say the microphone is too simple.\u00a0 Quite to the contrary, watch the RODELink video at the end of this article for all its capabilities.\u00a0 There\u2019s not much you\u2019ll find missing here.<\/p>\n

The receiver will mount to a hot shoe on your camera and has a curled cable that plugs into the audio jack.<\/p>\n

The end attached to the receiver has a threaded locking ring to prevent it from being disconnected.<\/p>\n

The transmitter has a similar capability to mount to a hot shoe if desired, but typically most people will use the belt clip to attach to your talent.<\/p>\n

Each unit works with a pair of AA batteries or you can attach an auxiliary power source via micro USB cable.\u00a0 With a decent power-bank like this<\/a> or this<\/span>, you could literally be recording constantly all day long.
