Modern ductwork systems in homes are really anything but modern. But that’s changing for the better with companies like Keen Home<\/a>. Keen has come out with a line now available at Lowes, that actually allows each air vent to intelligently play a part in whole house comfort.<\/p>\n

The base building blocks of the system come in an automated vent that replaces your existing 4×10 or 4×12 floor vent. Then with the aide of a small smart hub that plugs into your router, you can then control your vents to make your rooms cooler or warmer in varying degrees.<\/p>\n

Imagine, being able to cut down the heating in that spare bedroom and immediately send that hot air to other rooms that you are actually occupying. Bingo, more heat for you and less heat going to waste in a room that maybe hasn’t seen a warm body for months.<\/p>\n

I played with a couple samples sent to me by Keen and can vouch for the simplicity of their operation. I can only assume that with enough to do a whole house, the savings and comfort would be amazing.<\/p>\n
