Featuring national and international breweries, the fest is showcasing beers from Argentina and Brazil as well as the state of Michigan, in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The fest is being held at Place Bonaventure, right across from the VIA Rail station in\u00a0 downtown Montreal.\u00a0 Admission is free, and beer samplers may be \u00a0purchased with one to five tickets.<\/p>\n<p>For an overview of what you\u2019ll find, consider the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>724 available products (beers, honey wines, ciders and malt\u2010based beverages)<\/li>\n<li>637 beers from 191 breweries, of which 31are handcraft breweries originating from Quebec<\/li>\n<li>295 new beers, never offered at the Mondial de la bi\u00e8re in 18 years!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to the beer, you need to eat. The fest won\u2019t disappoint that regard either. Look for the following tasty morsels at one or more of these 15 food kiosks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The famous European style sausage sandwich<\/li>\n<li>Giant grilled shrimps<\/li>\n<li>Lobster\u00a0 sandwiches<\/li>\n<li>Boar and buffalo on a stick<\/li>\n<li>Homemade salmon gravlax salad and kangaroo meat<\/li>\n<li>Belgian \u2018\u2018croque\u2010monsieur\u2019\u2019, pretzels<\/li>\n<li>Sweet and salty beer pancake<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>La F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des producteurs de lait du Qu\u00e9bec <\/em>will also be there with its <em>Fromages d&#8217;ici <\/em>stand where many cheese masters will be invited and will offer visitors a cheese tasting experience.<\/p>\n<p>Check the slide show for some interesting brews this writer tried.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"background-color: #212121;\" src=\"http:\/\/cpsc.zenfolio.com\/zf\/core\/embedgallery.aspx?p=03634d2b0de704411CCCCCC00e111111F5F5F5DDDDDD212121cccccc.2\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"580\" height=\"386\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>My newest, favorite discovery is a wild, brew from the New Belgium Brewing Company in Collins, Colorado, US called La Folie\u00a0 Sour Brown Ale. The\u00a0 bottle warns you that it is \u201cseriously sour.\u201d\u00a0 This Flanders style, reddish-brown ale is fermented 1 to 3 years in French oak barrels until it is \u201cmouth-puckering perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I read the warning, but I wasn\u2019t\u00a0 ready for the first taste. It went down so nice though, that I really enjoyed the entire sample.
