I was just introduced to Hincapie cycling apparel this year, but this last journey made me a lifelong convert.<\/p>\n

My plans included biking five Canadian cities; Windsor, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Jonquiere. I had 10 days to get in as much riding as possible<\/a>. Not being a real \u201chard core\u201d cyclist, (honestly, not even close) I \u201ccheated\u201d and used the VIA Rail bike train<\/a> between cities.<\/p>\n

It gave me the opportunity to see some fantastic scenery and to join in two of Canada\u2019s bigger bike events. VeloFest in Ottawa<\/span> was my first exposure to bike polo and I got to ride with 20,000 of my closest friends in the 50k Tour de L\u2019ile de Montreal<\/span>.<\/p>\n

\"Hincapie<\/a>Trying to pack as light as possible, I wanted to just take two sets of shirts and riding shorts. I packed my previous favorites and a new set of Hincapie shorts and cycling shirt. I went with the Potenza Jersey Fire (Red) (UPC 844579031047) and the Power Short Coldblack (UPC 844579038015). What a great find!<\/p>\n

The jersey features \u2018Aerator\u2019 double mesh weave in the main body of the shirt to wick moisture away and a \u2018VenTek\u2019 single stretch mesh in sides, sleeves and shoulders. Built-in SPF 30+ protects from UVA and UVB. Flat lock seaming makes it feel comfortable from the first wearing. Gripper elastic in the back hem keeps it in place while reflective piping and tape make you visible at those off hours when the light starts to wane.<\/p>\n

The shorts were nothing short (no pun intended) of amazing.\u00a0 Their Coldblack material actually prevents them from heating up in the sun and provides SPF50+ protection from UV rays as well. The waistband was soft and provided just the right amount of elasticity. Overall, the shorts were a great comfortable fit while still providing compressive support.<\/p>\n

The wonder of the shorts was the chamois section. Bright red in color, the \u2018Hincapie Power Chamois with E.I.T. Max fabric and high density foam inserts\u2019 was a pleasure to ride on. Even after all day in the saddle, there was no noticeable moisture. I\u2019m not sure if it was the relief channels molded in or the material itself, but they were the perfect shorts for multiple rides on multiple days.<\/p>\n
