It\u2019s here where you\u2019ll discover Romney<\/a>, the oldest chartered town of West Virginia. \u00a0It\u2019s also home to Capon Springs<\/a> \u2013 a resort like none you\u2019ve experienced before. C\u2019mon along and see if it\u2019s your next family getaway.<\/p>\n

Steeped in history, this was ground zero for the French\/Indian wars as well as many Civil War conflicts. In fact, Romney changed hands 56 times during the Civil War. On the edge of North versus South, even households were split on which side to fight for when the Civil War broke out.<\/p>\n

Now, nestled in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley<\/a>, with those tumultuous times behind us, this sliver of West Virginia is perfect for a relaxing escape.
