Tired of lessons trying to perfect your swing? Bothered by perennial hooks and slices?\u00a0 Maybe you need to take up the next sensation sweeping the country and try ThrowGolf.<\/a>\u00a0 Cupping your ball with the Flauncher, instead of hitting the ball, you merely fling the ball toward the hole.<\/p>\n

\"Flauncher<\/p>\n

Capable of flinging the ball hundreds of yards, you can play many of same courses you\u2019ve played before, but in a whole new way. With just one club, you can play the entire course.<\/p>\n

My first experience trying the sport came in Hampshire County, West Virginia at the Capon Springs Golf Course<\/a>. It took a few holes to get the hang of not \u201cover-swinging.\u201d \u00a0In West Virginia, the sport is known as FlingGolf, but it\u2019s the same as ThrowGolf.<\/p>\n

What is the Flauncher<\/strong><\/h1>\n

With a shaft and a handle similar to a standard golf club, the resemblance ends there.\u00a0 Instead of multiple golf club heads of different sizes and different angles, the Flauncher comes in only one model and consists of a plastic grip, designed to hold one golf ball.<\/p>\n

\"Flauncher<\/p>\n

The ball fits quasi-snugly in the holder until flung overhead. At precisely the end of the throw, the ball will fly out of the head of the Flauncher and hopefully proceed toward the green.\u00a0 Try to complete your swing at approximately 90 degrees to the ground.<\/p>\n

\"Where<\/p>\n

How to play ThrowGolf<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The ball is placed in the Flauncher and launched (flaunched) toward the hole with an overhead swing, either one or two-handed.\u00a0 The trick is to stop the swing immediately over your head to launch the ball to its furthest extent.<\/p>\n

\"Using<\/p>\n

Upon reaching the green, the ball can be tossed, using the side of the club\u2019s head or you can use what\u2019s known as the foot tap, where the club is struck alongside your raised foot, enabling the ball to continue on toward the hole.<\/p>\n

Where do you buy a Flauncher<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Flaunchers are sold by ThrowGolf USA \u00a0and can be ordered online here:\u00a0 https:\/\/throwgolf.com\/collections\/throwgolf%E2%84%A2<\/a> Each Flauncher comes with one ball, but most standard golf balls will work as well.<\/p>\n

Caution:\u00a0 Not all golf courses allow ThrowGolf, although an increasing number are.\u00a0 Be sure to call ahead and check before driving to the course.<\/p>\n
