What is the biggest factor in sleep comfort? I might suggest it\u2019s the pillow.\u00a0 And, if you\u2019re traveling, an absolute must take along is the uber-compact and ultra-lightweight Sea to Summit Aeros Pillow Ultralight<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recently toured the Upper Peninsula\u2019s Lakeshore Trail at\nPictured Rocks in a four-day backpacking trip. At the end of each day, I was\nonly too happy to lay down, and relax. The Aeros Ultralight pillow never\ndisappointed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clever Design<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

While all inflatables have a valve to inflate and deflate,\nthe Aeros Pillow has a multi-functional, three-way valve. Opening the top flap,\nyou can blow through a small screen until the pillow is inflated. After trying\nit out, you might find as I did that it was more comfortable slightly\nunder-inflated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To slightly deflate, push the center of the valve to adjust\nthe firmness and then close the outer tab to lock the unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To deflate, flip open the bottom tab and instantly the pillow is flat and ready to be rolled up and stored in its little sack. The rolled-up pillow is so small it can be hidden in the palm of your hand and weights just 2 oz., so it\u2019s small enough to take anywhere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comfortable on the skin<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve used other inflatable pillows over the years and\nwithout a pillow case or a cloth laid over top, my skin would sweat and I\u2019d be\nlooking for something to separate me from the vinyl of the pillow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not so with the Aeros Ultralight Pillow. They use a\nsoft-to-the-touch, stretch knit fabric that is comfortable next to the skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great ergonomics<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Their pillow line shows some real forethought and\nengineering.  My Aeros Ultralight has a\nslight crescent shape, meant to center itself over your shoulders, especially\nif you are a side sleeper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gentle, curved baffles are designed to cradle your head in\nthe center of the pillow. And, if my recent backpacking trip was an indication,\nall these features come together to do a great job and will be a standard item\non my backpacking checklist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four Models<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Aeros Ultralight comes in four models:  the Regular<\/strong>, like I used, which is\n14.2 x 10.2 x 4.7.  There\u2019s also a Large<\/strong>\nmodel which is 17.3 x 12.6 x 5.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Deluxe<\/strong> model is completely rectangular, and\nmeasures 23.5 x 16 x 5.5. Then, there\u2019s also the around-the-neck model called\nthe Travel<\/strong> model which is made for airplane travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
