I recently had the opportunity to try out the BeHear ACCESS Personal TV Sound System from Wear & Hear<\/a>. <\/a>\u00a0I had seen it demonstrated at the CES2021 show and was anxious to see exactly how well it worked in real-life situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, it worked just as hoped.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually, it\u2019s two products bundled together for cost savings, but either can be bought without the other, and there are reasons that might be just what you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BeHear ACCESS Enhanced Hearing Headset<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The headset wraps around your neck, hanging on your chest with controls on both sides. It\u2019s designed for people with mild-to-moderate hearing issues and is rechargeable for up to 12 hours of use. The earbuds come with a variety of rubber cup sizes so you’ll get just the right fit. The arms of the headset give you playback controls with volume up and down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s basically a Bluetooth stereo headset at its core, but it\u2019s much more than that.  Thanks to their audio engineers, it offers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Assistive hearing with enhanced intelligibility of sounds in the speech spectrum<\/li>
  2. Ability to listen to music or phone calls through your phone<\/li>
  3. As a digital hearing aid for sounds of all types \u2013 inside and out.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    You can even customize the settings on your phone so that the headphones work best for inside, outside, in a crowd, or at a concert. Pick your application as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The phone app does a hearing test as part of the setup, so frequencies that give you a problem during testing, are automatically enhanced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    It couldn\u2019t be easier to set up because there are videos to guide you every step of the way. The charger is a micro-USB type cradle and the headset just drops right in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I tried them in a wooded area nearby, and wouldn\u2019t have heard certain birds far off without them. \u00a0MSRP $349.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    By itself, the HearLink PLUS is a TV audio and music transmitter. Connect a TV, a stereo system, or a computer, and HearLink beams out a wireless Bluetooth signal \u2013 supposedly up to 200 feet away. In my home,  I never got more than 50 feet away, but it worked great that far. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I was surprised to see that not only does it handle an Aux-In input for audio, it also provides Optical-In for the best in audio fidelity if your system offers that.  So, this can deliver every last bit of audio quality your music library contains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Where this really shines is when you are moving around from room to room and don\u2019t want to miss part of your program. No matter how far I wandered, I never lost the story line.  MSRP $69.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
