The Nexvoo N109 and T530 are two very different but very able conference cameras<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had the good fortune of connecting with the people from Nexvoo around the end of last year and have been testing two of their conferencing devices since.\u00a0 The two devices, N109 Smart Conference Camera<\/a> and the T530 Video Conferencing Tablet<\/a>, couldn\u2019t be more different, but both are worth a look for those with need to connect via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Duo, WebEx and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think the easiest way to decide is simply a matter of \u2013 do you want the people on the other end of your call to see <\/strong>MORE or LESS.\u00a0 If it\u2019s MORE \u2013 go for the N109.\u00a0 If it\u2019s LESS \u2013 go for the T530.\u00a0 But there\u2019s a lot more to talk about with the T530, so we\u2019ll get to that first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

T530 Video Conferencing Tablet<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While this is made for conferencing certainly, it\u2019s really, I think, an all-day device that you can use for so many other things as well. First of all, I believe it may be one of the first Google-certified video conferencing devices with an Android 10.0 operating system inside.\u00a0 So, video conferencing is just one of its tricks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can keep it up all day to monitor (and respond) to you Gmail account. I\u2019ll often also leave my weather app open for hours if a storm is approaching.\u00a0 It also functions as a calculator when needed, thanks to that app.\u00a0 Actually, any app available from the Google Play Store can be installed and used on this nice large, 8\u201d diagaonal, 1920×1080 screen.\u00a0 With the T530 on my desk, I rarely have to reach for my phone anymore during the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watching movies or YouTube videos is a pleasure on this device and the sound quality is plenty loud for full room viewing. But for a bigger group, no problem, it works with any Chromecast-enabled screen. Last but not least is an HDMI port for hard-wired connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, as I mentioned in the intro, if you want to keep your field of view narrow, this is certainly your best choice.  Let\u2019s say you are in a big project, things are scattered about, and you really don\u2019t want your audience seeing everything around you, then you can use it vertically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or turn it horizontally for a wider view if that\u2019s what you\u2019d prefer.  I\u2019ve used it both ways with great success recently, so suit yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you meet with a large group of people in your large conference room, this is the one you\u2019ll want.  The camera has a wonderfully wide field of view (110\u00b0 wide) and a hi-res 1080p camera.  People commented favorably on the quality of the picture they received from this setup.  Here\u2019s a screen grab showing the quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also see from this photo how wide the field of view is, so if you had a load of people, the camera will likely be able to capture them all simultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It plugs into the USB port of your desktop or laptop and appears as a standard webcam.  You can then use the internal microphone of the N109 or another mic closer to the participants, which is what we did. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also auto tracking available on the camera, so it focuses on the speaker.  This works best when someone is constantly speaking for some time, but not as well when people are randomly jumping in and out of the conversation.  We usually turn this feature off during most meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also offers a mechanical tilt feature so you have some slight adjustability of the camera angle \u2013 either up or down \u2013 depending on where you position it relative to your conference table.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
