Marriott Courtyard Lyndhurst Meadowlands<\/p><\/div>\n

One of the little secrets we learned many years ago, was that we could stay in New Jersey, while going to see all the sites in New York City. Just across the Hudson River, there are many hotels and motels that provide great service, for far less than you would pay in Manhattan.<\/p>\n

We just came back from a trip to New York and we spent all three nights at the Marriott Courtyard Lyndhurst Meadowlands<\/a>. It\u2019s located just about 15 minutes drive-time from the Port Authority bus depot in mid-town Manhattan, and believe me, that\u2019s the best way to get into the city. The New Jersey Transit bus #190 stops right at the corner of the hotel, with a covered bus shelter, and for under $5.00, it will take you right through the tunnel and into the Port Authority.<\/p>\n

The hotel itself is a perfect blend of convenience, great service, good food and moderate pricing. Room rates generally start about $119 as of this writing.\u00a0 The rooms are modern, well equipped and very comfortable. Outside, there\u2019s convenient, close by free parking \u2013 unheard of in NYC.<\/p>\n

Inside, there\u2019s a bottomless supply of coffee and water for tea right as you head up the elevators. Enjoy free wireless Internet throughout the hotel, with good upload and download speeds. There\u2019s also a business center available for guests.<\/p>\n

Try one of the nice breakfast buffets in the restaurant, which we enjoyed each day, or try the restaurant for dinner in the evening.<\/p>\n

Want to eat out and have some fun at the same time?\u00a0 Right next door is the Medieval Times Dinner Theater, where you can eat and watch some rousing jousting all at the same time.<\/p>\n

For more conventional sports action, you are also very close to the Meadowlands with entertainment at the IZOD Center, Giants ballgames at the Giants Stadium or horse racing at Meadowlands Racetrack.<\/p>\n

Lyndhurst is an ideal spot to stay and enjoy the wide open spaces when you aren\u2019t enjoying the crowded city.<\/p>\n
