Where most shops and stores have doors to enter, this place has a gap between two other stores. No doors, nothing to open. Just squeeze between the exterior walls of two stores, built about 15 inches (38 cm) apart.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Narrow-Door-Cafe-2355.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-5476\" alt=\"Narrow Door Cafe in Tainan, Taiwan\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Narrow-Door-Cafe-2355-114x150.jpg?resize=114%2C150\" width=\"114\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Narrow-Door-Cafe-2355.jpg?resize=114%2C150&amp;ssl=1 114w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Narrow-Door-Cafe-2355.jpg?resize=228%2C300&amp;ssl=1 228w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dougbardwell.com\/db\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Narrow-Door-Cafe-2355.jpg?w=457&amp;ssl=1 457w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 114px) 100vw, 114px\" \/><\/a>Once into the opening, you\u2019ll have to skinny your way about 50 feet to the stairs. From there, you\u2019ll climb the graciously wide 24 inch stairway to the second floor. That is, unless you encounter someone coming the other way, in which case someone needs to retreat and start over. They are free for browsing and supposedly college students often return to see what they wrote during high school. This place is frequented by artists and writers \u2013 look for their signatures on the bulletin board.<\/p>\n<p>Fun atmosphere but remember, you don\u2019t want to eat too much.
