If you\u2019ve been through as many bungee cords in a lifetime as I have, you\u2019ll know a good looking alternative when you see one.\u00a0 One glimpse at the LoopRope<\/a> and I knew this had real possibilities. Not only that, this thing is much safer than your typical S-hook style bungee.<\/p>\n

After having been slapped in the face one-to-many times with a bungee, I\u2019ve always kept my eyes open for a better alternative. With camping, hiking, road-tripping, and off-roading, there\u2019s always the need for tie-down straps.<\/p>\n

LoopRope is the ingenious invention of Jeff Dahl, who came up with the idea in 2009.\u00a0 Now referred to as Loop Technology, this strap offers unlimited adjustability while offering even more secure ways to lash down your loose items. It\u2019s awesome to see how often the loops are in just the right place to grab your gear or to attach a second rope.<\/p>\n

The LoopRope comes in two lengths \u2013 three-foot and five-foot. The three-footer gives you four loops along its length (in addition to the two at the ends.)\u00a0 The five-footer gives you eight plus the end two.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s amazing how many uses you\u2019ll find for things to slip into those loops. I recently discovered that it was just the answer to a photographic problem I had with my Ogio backpack<\/a>.\u00a0 As much as I love it, it wouldn\u2019t accommodate my tripod, so whenever I had a photo shoot, I needed to transfer everything over to a dedicated photo backpack.\u00a0 Major pain!<\/p>\n

Now, I can use the water bottle pocket on the Ogio to support the legs of my tripod and use the LoopRope to secure the top of it.\u00a0 No matter how full or empty the backpack, the LoopRope can be pulled up nice and snug. If does a great job of supporting the tripod and the loop slips over the top of the tripod head without scratching the finish. Problem solved.<\/p>\n
