most iconic views of Ireland is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discoverireland.ie\/Arts-Culture-Heritage\/cliffs-of-moher-wild-atlantic-way\/91307\">Cliffs of Moher in County Clare<\/a>.\u00a0 These sea cliffs drop straight into the Atlantic from over 200 meters up.\u00a0 Walkways and stairs make it accessible to just about everyone who can climb a hill.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9515\" parking lot and visitors center, which can get crowded during the tourist season.\u00a0 This is the destination for many of those large tour buses you see.\u00a0 If you know you are coming, consider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cliffsofmoher.ie\/book-online\/\">buying your tickets ahead of time on-line<\/a> and save 10% on parking and admittance.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adults 5.40 Euros<\/li>\n<li>Seniors, class=\"wp-caption-text\">Visitors Center is built right into the hill<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Cliffs Exhibition is built into the hill and has museum style exhibits as well as films explaining all about the geology of the area.\u00a0 Allow an hour inside to see everything before or after viewing the real thing outside. It\u2019s a 20 km hike \u2013 taking 4-5 hours in good weather and is rated for those highly fit.\u00a0 Steep ascents and descents on some unstable ground make it less than ideal for those unaccustomed to hiking. Luckily, there is room for additional cars to park in the driveway just outside the gates (and you save the parking fee.)\u00a0 I had wanted to make sure I got here in time to see the sun go down as this area faces directly west.<\/p>\n<p>As luck would have it, there were clouds covering the horizon, so it really never developed into a truly colorful sunset. The setting sun did however peak through enough to illuminate the cliffs and make for some nice photographs.
