For those being sex trafficked or held against their will in forced labor situations, there are literally thousands of organizations working on their behalf, ready to provide assistance. But how do you find them and which one is best?
There is a global directory available at http://www.globalmodernslavery.org/

With 2,816 organizations listed (as of this writing), how do you find the best ones for your situation? Fortunately, their website includes a search function in the upper left corner which will narrow down your results.

So, a few suggestions when searching:
- Don’t make your search term too specific. Searching on Cleveland, there was only one result. Yet three are either in Cleveland or nearby suburbs. There are another five within 25 miles of Cleveland.
- Therefore, I’d suggest searching by state name only, and then scan through the results for those closest to you. For example, searching on Ohio, rendered eight possible organizations within an hour of downtown Cleveland.
- You could also search by a specific type of organization, i.e. Trafficking. This yielded 131 organizations with that as their specific purpose.
For each organization, you can check the populations served (adults, minors, male, female, trans, etc.), the services they provide and the languages their people are fluent in.
If you represent an organization that would like to be listed in the directory, you can add your name at https://forms.globalmodernslavery.org/5
