Here’s a simple thing you can do to protect your own children, children you love, and children you’ll never meet. It’ll take less than a minute, but if enough of us sign, it will make an enormous impact.
Facebook’s default settings allow preditors to find your child through friends of your child’s friends, even if they have set their privacy settings to “friends only.”
Love 146, an organization that works to prevent child trafficking, has exposed three privacy settings on Facebook that make it exceedingly easy for predators to appear to be friends of your child’s friends, making them more vulnerable to exploitation. The solution is to change these three default settings – which would be easy for Facebook to do, but so far they haven’t.
If you’ve only got 60 seconds: click this link and sign the petition. You’ll be taking my word that these settings make sense.

If you’ve got two minutes more, watch this video to see how the settings should be set to protect your children and DO IT YOURSELF until Facebook makes it a default setting.
