Stop Human Trafficking

I can’t think of anything worse than being held captive in a situation where I am powerless to escape. Yet, there are reportedly 300,000 boys, girls, women and men in just such a situation – right here in the United States alone.  Internationally, the number is probably in the millions.

In the U.S., “Land of the Free,” how can trafficking happen?

People get trapped into slavery, human bondage, prostitution and other forms of trafficking or captivity through a variety of situations. Runaways are easy targets for those who prey on the unsuspecting.  Drug addicts often succumb to forced labor in order to support their habits. Sometimes, children are sold to pimps by their parents in return for drugs.  In the most extreme cases, people (children and adults) are actually kidnapped against their will, drugged, and then forced to work for their captors.

But this doesn’t happen in my town!

Oh, yes it does. There isn’t a single state in the nation that doesn’t suffer from slavery or trafficking of some sort.  Chances are, you’ve seen a victim of trafficking in the past few months, but never realized it.

That’s why this site exists

In an effort to help alleviate this terrible condition, we’ll be posting articles to:

  • Help you recognize the signs of trafficking
  • Show things you can do to help
  • Post resources for those who are affected by trafficking
