May 14th is World Fair Trade Day and is a time to reflect on fair trade’s impact on the lives of those trying to escape poverty, slavery, and exploitation.

Child labor trafficking is rampant in the cocoa industry, with more than 2 million children reportedly being forced to help harvest cocoa beans.
In addition, many workers are paid less than $2.00 per day to pick cocoa, while some work for as little as $4.50 per week.
