This year&#8217;s event will focus on listening to those who are survivors of trafficking.  Learning from their experiences, hopefully the world can better combat this atrocity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-huge-font-size\"><strong>Victims will be giving their stories<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Victims\u2019 Voices Lead the Way \u2013 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2021\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eq9UQeyrH9Q?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>During this year\u2019s World Day Against Trafficking in Persons \u201cVictims\u2019 Voices Lead the Way\u201d throughout the campaign. You will be introduced to the stories of survivors who are key actors in the fight against human trafficking. Survivors play a crucial role in establishing effective measures to prevent this crime, identify and rescue victims and support them on their road to rehabilitation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many victims of human trafficking have experienced ignorance or misunderstanding in their attempts to get help. They have had traumatic post-rescue experiences during identification interviews and legal proceedings. Some have faced revictimization and punishment for crimes they were forced to commit by their traffickers. Others have been subjected to stigmatization or received inadequate support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learning from victims\u2019 experiences and turning their suggestions into concrete actions will lead to a more victim-centred and effective approach in combating human trafficking.
