For someone trying to rebuild their lives, this can be devastating.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately for them, the House of Representatives has already passed legislation and sent it to the Senate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Known as the\u00a0<strong>Debt Bondage Repair Act of 2021 <\/strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/default.salsalabs.org\/T1b5e5d18-103f-4c24-85d9-7a3cee4f80cc\/d8d18b0b-da22-40b4-b9be-0c8c3b81b9f5\">S.2040<\/a>).\u00a0This\u00a0bill prohibits a consumer reporting agency from reporting adverse credit information about a consumer that is the result of severe human trafficking. This common-sense solution helps survivors\u00a0regain their livelihood and get a fresh start in life.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage you to join in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/default.salsalabs.org\/Tf8cc8e0f-d293-4feb-bb16-dac4e5efe4ce\/d8d18b0b-da22-40b4-b9be-0c8c3b81b9f5\">action alert<\/a>\u00a0created by our friends at the Sisters of the Good Shepherd National Advocacy Center to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/default.salsalabs.org\/T4b12ca4b-1df3-478d-adac-13f19828c4ad\/d8d18b0b-da22-40b4-b9be-0c8c3b81b9f5\">contact your Senators<\/a>\u00a0and ask them to co-sponsor and support this bill.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s so simple to send a letter by clicking on that &#8220;contact your Senator&#8221; link right above.  They&#8217;ve even written the letter for you, but you can change it as well if you like.  Merely click that link, fill in your address, and it will identify and address a letter encouraging your two senators to vote to pass the legislation.
