Which of these cyclists is going to be noticed first? The one with the Bkin – no doubt.

Riding in the early morning or early evening hours is often the only time working people have to be on their bikes during the week. Same goes for runners. The downside has always been reduced visibility, making it risky for people to be riding or running in the street.  With Bkin’s tiny safety beacon, there’s no way you’ll be missed by anyone else on the road.

“Planes and helicopters use pulsing lights to ensure that they are highly visible to other aircraft – day and night,” said Delta Cycle CEO Errol Drew. “The Bkin is our answer to this. Inspired by the flashing white navigation lights on aircraft that can be seen for miles even in full daylight, the Bkin’s innovative design delivers the most power and functionality available in a device of its size—small enough to fit in a pocket.”

Bkin can be used either front or rear depending on your needs. Riding against traffic, you’ll want the light on the front;  while traveling with the traffic direction, the beacon is best facing backwards.  Luckily, the Bkin can be mounted quickly in a variety of ways, and it’s inexpensive enough you might want two.

With the elastic band and mounting bracket, it’s literally just a matter of seconds to wrap it around a bike post, seat stem or handlebar.  The Bkin itself comes with a belt clip which can be used alone if you want to attach it to your belt or waistband.  The same belt clip attaches to the bracket for quick install and removal. No matter what your situation, there’s probably a simple method to attach and go.

Reportedly the light can be seen 1,000 feet in daylight and 3,000 feet at night with a wide viewing angle. One battery charge will last more than 12 hours in pulsing mode or more than an hour in steady on mode.

When it’s time to recharge, it’s a simple matter of swinging out the USB plug and inserting it into any USB charging port. With a portable powerpack, you can easily recharge it anywhere – no 110v electric outlet needed.

With a retail price of only $14.99, it’s one of the best deals going – super safety and no need to be constantly buying expensive alkaline batteries. It’s available in three colors. Check out the entire line of bike products offered at Delta Cycle.
