Adams County Pour Tour on tap in Gettysburg, Pa.

If you read yesterday’s blog post about celebrating Memorial Day in Gettysburg, well, why limit it to one weekend?  There’s plenty here to keep your entire family interested for weeks, but for the adults, there’s a special attraction that will keep your spirits high.  Having sampled just a small portion of the trail in the past, we can vouch for the quality and the diversity of options around Gettysburg.  Now it’s got its own trail designation, and it’s awaiting your arrival.

From their press release:

There’s nothing quite like a perfectly poured craft beer, the first glass of wine out of a freshly corked bottle, or the bubbles of a sparkling cider hitting your palate just right. Beverage makers throughout the rural countryside of Adams County, Pennsylvania, understand the impression that a drink can make, and have a passion behind every pint, every splash, every pour.

Destination Gettysburg invites group travelers to get a taste of the Adams County region through a new adventure to highlight the countryside’s unique craft beverage industry.

The Adams County Pour Tour brings together wineries, breweries, distilleries and cideries for an amazing culinary trail – designed to create one memorable experience through the bold flavors of this destination. The Adams County Pour Tour launched May 11, 2018.

Graet apples make great cider

Rooted in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Fruit Belt, Adams County is home to more than 20,000 acres of apple trees, making it an ideal location for growing not only 100 varieties of apples, but peaches, grapes, hops and more. Tucked among the farm markets, orchards and vineyards is a growing number of wineries, cideries, breweries and distilleries.

“Each of these craft beverage makers is special, but bringing them together into one trail will create a more memorable experience for group travelers and encourage more visitors to explore the Gettysburg countryside,” said Norris Flowers, President of Destination Gettysburg. “The Pour Tour is a great way to highlight a variety of craft beverages – ranging from wines, to ciders, beer and spirits – all found right here in Adams County, Pa.”
