It’s rare that you can find a multipurpose gadget that really offers needed functionality and is always available when you need it.  The Norshire is an exception and it’s something you might consider to be a permanent resident in your vehicle’s trunk.

Norshire – 4 Functions for your car

Jump starter

Simply connect the supplied red and black clamps to your battery’s terminals and then plug the adapter into the face of the Norshire. The Norshire has the strength to start just about any gas or diesel car with its 11,000mAh battery.  They claim it can jump start a car up to 30 times if fully charged with its 12.6 volts and 400A of current.

Power Bank

With 11,000mAh of power stored in the Norshire, you’ll easily be able to charge your phone multiple times, or your phone and your tablet simultaneously. It’ll also recharge your USB chargeable devices like fans, lanterns, flashlights, etc.  Dual 2amp outputs will take your most power-hungry devices.

Warning sign

If you’re broken down along the road, or if you encounter an accident, the bottom of the Norshire is printed with the universal emergency warning triangle, and can be set out to warn oncoming motorists.

You’ll also notice some perforated holes here on the underside of the Norshire.  This is the speaker, where Norshire will give voice commands regarding its battery life and procedures for starting the washing compressor.

Car washing kit

In addition to the Norshire power unit, you’ll receive a host of car washing essentials.  It comes with a five-foot input hose and filter so you can draw water from a bucket or pail.  It is not advised to hook it directly up to a garden hose, since the hose pressure could damage the internal components of the pump.

I found that the filter at the end of the supply hose had a tendency to rise to the top of the pail, so I weighted it down with a couple large metal nuts and bolts. Now it always stays right on the bottom and I get to use all the water in the container.

I actually pack all the car washing gear in a plastic container we got at Costco, loaded with 12.5 pounds of unpopped popcorn.  It’s just the right size to hold all the accessories and doubles as a water bucket when I’m washing the car.  Two fills usually completes the entire washing process.

The Norshire is also set up to enable you to screw a bottle of water directly into the center of the unit, but this didn’t work for me.  I tried three different brands of water bottles and none fit securely enough to enable the pump to generate sufficient pressure. Even if it had fit properly, a small water bottle like that would have only provided for about one minute of washing.  From my experience, you need about five gallons to completely wash a car.

The Norshire also comes with a 5m (16’) hose that attaches to the high-pressure washer or soap brush accessories.  Setting it at one corner of the car, it’s long enough to do the front or back and one side of the car.  Then usually when I refill my water jug, I relocate the Norshire to the opposite corner and do the other side of the car.  My car wash is done in minutes and I can do it anywhere since there is no electrical outlet needed.

Portable

You can easily stow the Norshire unit and all its accessories in the trunk of your car, or possibly under the seat.  The power unit is only 10” across and not quite 2-1/2” tall, It weighs just over three pounds.

You can fully recharge the unit in less than three hours, so there’s never a reason to be without power while you travel.

The Norshire portable pressure washer and jump starter for your car or for camping is available now on Indiegogo in an already almost 200% funded campaign.

Disclosure:  We were provided with a Norshire unit to test for this review, but, as always, our opinions are strictly our own.
