An AC outlet in my carry-on – who’d have guessed it?

I’ve got many portable power banks in my collection. My first myCharge power pack, which is now more than 6 years old, is still working. But none of them had a 110v outlet until the 13,400 mAh Adventure Ultra came along. As cool as that was, myCharge has upped the ante with the newest 20,000 mAh Portable Power Outlet.

Four charging ports

This new Portable Power Outlet packs four onboard charging ports:

3 usb outlets
  • Two USB-A ports
  • One USB-C port
  • One AC Power Port – up to 65 W or .59 A.
A 110V AC outlet, built in

This is a game changer for those who spend lots of time in the outdoors and off the grid. The 20,000 mAh battery pack holds enough power to recharge my Samsung S8 multiple times. It’ll keep me going all weekend long and then some.

But the other thing that’s amazing is the 110V outlet, enabling you to charge your devices that need to plug into the wall. Any device up to 65 W or .59 A will charge anywhere you are.

110 V power outlet

I sometimes need to plug in a 12-port USB hub that has its own 110V power supply. I could never handle that away from my car, which has 110V charging capability. Now with the Portable Power Outlet, I can set up in the backwoods, miles from my car and have enough juice to power a half dozen hard drives and flash drives, all at the same time.

I love the build of this unit as well. It’s got a rubbery feel to the outer case and that keeps it from sliding when placed on an out-of-level table or bench.

An LCD display shows whether power is on to the USB or AC ports and how much battery strength is left.

The handy dual LED displays keep you informed about battery life, and will warn you if you overload the unit. You can use the 110 V outlet and the USB outlets simultaneously. When you are in your office or home, you can even power your devices while you are recharging the unit.

That’s ideal for travelers as well. Overnight, your Portable Power Outlet will recharge, as will everything you plugged into it.
