Last week I got hold of a pair of the new Mu6 Space 2 headphones and I’m loving them. The sound is terrific and they’re extremely comfortable to wear. The soft padding is breathable so you can wear them for hours very comfortably.

The Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity is also top-notch. I walked away from my phone well more than 30 feet and still, the music kept playing. Pretty impressive.

Space 2 by Mu6 headphones

The satin black finish on the Space2 headphones is quite elegant and I like that the Mu6 logo is tastefully small and unobtrusive.

Soft earpads are large enough to wrap your ear without pinching

The ear cups are actually large enough to go around my ear without compressing them. That makes a huge difference when you are wearing them all afternoon. Having the large L and R imprinted inside makes it easy to orient them correctly when putting them on. Why haven’t other people figured this out?

Mu6 can be bent out of shape without breaking - within reason

Caution! – I see from their ad that you can twist them like this, but I was severely hesitant to try it myself. I started to bend them but met resistance immediately, so I stopped. You’re on your own if you do this – but if you do – send me a photo.

touch and drag to change volume or skip tracks

Okay – this is pretty cool technology. Instead of reaching for your phone, tablet, or whatever is playing your tunes, you can simply stroke up, down, left or right to change volume or to change tracks. At first, I couldn’t get this to work, but discovered that you really need to make a full length swipe from side to side and it does work.

The other awesome feature is that if you place your palm over the left earpiece and hold it there, the sound reduces considerably such that you can hold a conversation with someone.

Also, just tapping the left earpiece lets you answer any incoming phone calls. The phone audio is equally clear and great for calls in noisy places. Somehow those six noise-cancelling microphones work really well to provide distinct conversations.

power light shows when headphones are turned on

ANC can also be set to Transparent or Off (for conversation) if desired by the simple press (or two) of the button right above the power button. There’s also a small LED light right by the power switch so you won’t forget to turn them off when you remove them. At the bottom of the right ear cup, is where you’ll find the USB-C charging port. Goodbye and good riddance micro-USB.

Voice Assistance

Activate the Google APP Voice Assistant (Android) or Siri (iPhone), with two presses of the ANC Button to manage your music and your phone without using your hands. Note: Bluetooth connection required.

Auto Pause&Play

With a built-in intelligent infrared proximity sensor, audio automatically stops when you take off the headphones and resumes when you put them back on. Pause and reserve every musical note, lyric and rhythm for you anytime, anywhere.

If you touch the lower power button just briefly, it will announce the battery level left of your current charge. Press and hold to turn off the Space2 headphones.

Auto Noise Cancelling is great on the Mu6

The Space 2 headphones have ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) technology with six microphones that automatically comes on when the headphones are turned on.  I can’t see that it drops the battery life – so that’s a plus. It honestly works as well as any other headphones I’ve owned.

Mu6 3 Modes

When the phone turns on, it’s automatically in ANC mode. Press the button for transparency mode if you want the music and outside noise balanced. Another press and it turns off the ANC completely.

Mu6 laid flat on table

Twist the earpieces 90 degrees to lay flat against your body or in a backpack. Folded, they are 7-1/2″ wide by almost 9″ tall.
