I just installed one of these in my office and it’s amazing how flexible the spaces are for all types of storage. While a shelf full of carved wood ducks lines the ceiling area, I don’t have a lot of other objects d’art in my office. Right after assembling the Tribesigns 79″ Tall Bookshelf, with 7-Tier Open Display Shelves (Model HOGA-U0020), I added a couple of carved wooden bears that I really like for its photo debut.
Since then, it’s been pressed into service for more mundane, but necessary storage as I review new products that keep coming.
The Rustic Brown one that I got has a black metal structural frame with textured wood grain-looking shelves. The bookshelf is available in three finishes ” Rustic Brown (with wood-grained shelves), Black, and White. (See top photo)
The combination of narrow and wider spaces lends itself to a number of different uses. It’s perfect for me, as I get packages of all shapes and sizes. Each shelf has a 30# capacity, so you can see it will cover most home or office uses.
All the pieces come predrilled for easy assembly, however, I found the directions could have been more specific. While the pieces had a few numbers to identify them, it wasn’t denoted whether they should be installed facing left or right. That caused me to have to remove the screws from three different pieces during the assembly and switch them around. Pay very close attention to the overall illustration and you should have better luck than me.
That said, all the connections were true and easily fastened together. They even supplied additional screws in case one should be bad. None of mine were. They also included a small wrench for assembly. While I started using that, with all the screws that needed to be tightened, I was glad I had a battery-powered screwgun with the appropriate bit to make the assembly quicker. The screws are all quality-looking and attached above or below different shelves.
The appearance of the metal is quite nice, with a textured surface and a rich feel. The imitation wood-finished particleboard shelves were all in pristine condition, thanks to some great packaging. (I can’t tell you how many other manufacturer’s shelves and desks I’ve assembled for kids that came damaged right from the box.)
