If you opt for the $209 Complete Set, you receive a vegan leather charging case that supplies an additional 70 hours of battery life, bumping total recording time up to 100 hours between wall charges. The case uses a built-in USB-C port, so you can use the same cable you carry for your laptop or phone. It also features a slot for an extra refill.
Small Gel Refills and Maintenance
While the writing experience is excellent, the physical design of the refill system comes with a clear trade-off. Because the interior of the pen chassis houses microphones, a battery, 32GB of memory, and control circuitry, the space reserved for ink is limited. The custom gel ink refills are extremely small compared to standard pen cartridges.
Flowtica offsets this capacity limit by including 20 replacement ink refills inside the box, alongside a refill pack option of 20 refills for $14.90. You will not need to shop for replacements right away, but you will swap out the tiny cartridges more frequently than you would on a standard ballpoint pen.
The first cartridge lasted a week, and the second almost two weeks, depending on how much you use it. The change process is extremely quick and easy – just unscrew the pen’s tip, unscrew the refill, insert the new one, and reverse the process. Really – 60 seconds max.
