If you need an all-day solution to listen to music while you work, the MU6 Ring is something certainly worth considering. With the folding design of the “ear” piece, these just about guarantee they will fit snugly and comfortably no matter how large or small your head is.
I wear glasses all the time, and they fit comfortably over the arm of the glasses without slipping. There’s an ingenious slot built-in so they slide over the arms of eyeglasses or sunglasses. That way, the headphones still hug the side of your face.
They only weigh a mere 35 grams or 0.08 pounds. The speakers that fold in front of your ears actually fold completely flat for ease of storage in your bag. Great sound emanates from the oval slots right above the RING logo. The long switch to the left controls all the functions of the headphones.
Ideal for sports
Bikers will appreciate being able to wear these under their helmet. Not only can you enjoy listening to your music or podcast while you ride, but you also don’t give up safety. With most in-ear or over-ear headphones or earbuds, you are blocking the ear canal and covering up ambient noises that you might need to be aware of – i.e., sirens, or the voice of another biker passing you. With the MU6 Ring, you’ll still be able to hear what’s going on around you. You can also see that the switch sits directly above your ear for easy access.
As a nice addon, MU6 added three highly reflective strips that can be attached to the headphone for maximum visibility at night.
Controls
Pairing was easy and quick. The Ring uses Bluetooth 5.0 technology so you can wander 10 meters or better than 32 feet away. If I leave my phone in my office and walk across the entire floor to the kitchen, I’m still connected and listening to my music.
The MU6 Ring will also allow connecting to two devices so you can be listening to music via Bluetooth from your laptop or tablet and still receive phone calls on your mobile device.
Battery life
Expect to get nine hours of battery life for either talk time or music listening time from each charge.
Thank you MU6 for not requiring some unique charging device, connector or docking station. Just a simple micro-USB cord is all you’ll need. Any charger from 5V-1A to 2A. The 200mAh battery doesn’t take long to charge, and the indicator glows red while it’s charging. When charging is complete, but the light turns blue.
Past experience
I was introduced to MU6 when I first tried their Space 2 headphones back on April 30, 2020. I’ve used them at least weekly for the entire time since then, and they are ultra-comfortable, both on the head and over the ears. They’ve done it again in my estimation with the Ring headphones.
